Shri Adesh Gupta has asked the Kejriwal government to close down schools at the earliest in view of the alarmingly increasing number of corona cases in Delhi. He said the way corona cases are on the rise by keeping the schools and educational institutes open the Kejriwal government is risking the lives of children. Rather, he should convene an all party meeting to apprise about preparedness of the government to tackle the situation. At the same time it should issue directions to keep in check the large crowds in markets and ensure social distancing.

Addressing a news conference here , he said from December 20 onwards cases of corona positive are on the rise. The state government has imposed night curfew and several other restrictions. But we had already demanded the laxity shown by the Kejriwal government during the first two waves should not be repeated. He warned Kejriwal and his other leaders busy in false propaganda and poll promises in other states to get ready in the right earnest before the situation becomes dangerous.  Present at the dais with him were state media head Shri Naveen Kumar Jindal and spokesperson Ms. Pooja Suri.

Shri Gupta thanked the Prime Minister Shri Narendder Modi for saving the people from pandemic by taking early corrective measures in the first two waves and having over 140 crore vaccines administered and said it is the sign of an able leadership  and farsightedness. Now the decision has also been taken to give booster dose to frontline workers. He said on one hand the Modi government has permitted vaccine for youngsters aged 15-18 while on the other Kejriwal government is pushing into danger lives of children by giving them permission to attend schools.

The state BJP president said nobody knows what the situation is regarding preparedness for tackling corona now as Kejriwal, all his ministers, MLAs and party office bearers are busy campaigning in Punjab, UP, Goa and Uttarkhand. He reminded the Kejriwal government that in earlier two waves preparations were declared only on papers and were nowhere to seen at the ground level. Fact is when people needed oxygen, beds, testing facilities the most, there was an atmosphere of uncertainty, he added.
