SC castigates Kejriwal govt for making Delhi polluted

Shri Adesh Gupta has said for the first time in history the Supreme Court has clearly and categorically labelled a state government useless. The country’s apex court, while castigating the Delhi government for alarming pollution level in the capital, has warned if the state government failed to take any concrete step in 24 hours, the court will itself take a decision as to what is to be done. In fact, welcoming the court’s comments on the issue, Shri Gupta hoped Delhi would now get a pollution-free atmosphere.
Shri Gupta said even the Supreme Court has now said whatever Kejriwal government says in the court has failed to do that. The court questioned whatever instructions have been given by the Centre with regard to pollution control, the state must put it on record how many of them have been followed by it. In fact, after such humiliation from the court, if Kejriwal has any morality or shame left in him, he should immediately resign, he asked.
The BJP State President said the court has clearly said the development by Kejriwal only is only seen in and through advertisements and publicity while the ground reality seems to be altogether different. It asked what message Kejriwal wants to give by making youngsters stand at almost every crossing with placards saying ‘car ka engine band’ and his photograph in it. You should think about health of these youngsters as well, it asked.  He said the court has asked little children are now going to schools makes no sense with parents working from home.  Is there no pollution threat to these kids, the court asked? The court has given 24 hours time to Kejriwal government to answer all these issues.

Congrats  Delhiites! Kejriwal govt bows down on petrol, struggle  for diesel  will continue

Shri Adesh Gupta has congratulated all Delhiites and party workers saying Kejriwal had to finally bow down due to agitation by our workers and reduce VAT by Rs 8 on petrol. Now all Delhiites will get much awaited relief on petrol.
While describing this decision by Kejriwal government as victory of Delhi, he said it shows real power is still in the hands of people in a democracy.  If once people make up their mind even the anti constitutional Kejriwal government has to bow down. Shri Adesh Gupta said we also demand VAT on diesel too be reduced or else we will continue to protest.
The Party State President while reminding Kejriwal of his oldpromises, said he had promised VAT on petrol and diesel would be the lowest in Delhi but on the contrary it was 12 pc on diesel and raised to 30 pc while on petrol it was raised from 20 to 30 pc. But when we protested it was reduced to 17 pc on diesel. While VAT on petrol has again been cut down but on diesel remains the same. So we will continue to agitate for reduction in VAT on diesel as well, he asserted.
